Platt Fields Park Geography Field Trip.
On Monday 15th December, 3K went to Platt Fields Park on a Geography Field Trip.
The trip was part of our Geography topic ‘How the weather affects Manchester’. In class we learnt how to draw a map of our local area and planned a route from school to Platt Fields Park. We used these maps to navigate our way to the park, using our map reading skills. In the park, we used our observation skills and fieldwork techniques to study the birds around the lake. We recorded the birds that we did see and discussed why other birds that are usually found in the park in spring and summer were no longer there.
The weather on the day was rainy which did cause some difficulties for us, As our books got rather wet! The weather in Manchester certainly did affect us!
Huge thanks to all the children in 3K who were great ambassadors for our school, and many thanks to our two parent helpers.
