Bees and Butterflies

The new lavender plants and Buddleia bushes have been attracting a lot of attention from bees and butterflies over the past few weeks.

Do you know why the butterflies and bees are attracted to the flowers?
Do you know why it is important to plant lots of flowers and plants for bees?

This butterfly is called a Red Admiral.

The Red Admiral is a well-known colourful butterfly, found in temperate Europe, Asia and North America. The Red Admiral has a 45–50 mm wing span.

Can you name any other butterflies?

It's not just the bees and the butterflies that have been visiting our field, we have also had squirrels visiting our flower beds. What do you think that they want?
