Heald Place Primary School

Great British Spring Clean Little Heroes.

As part of the Great British Clean up Heald Place pupils teamed up with staff from Biffa, Manchester City Council, some residents from the local residents group and also some parents from school. We spent part of our morning litter picking, weeding out the flower beds and tidying up the alley way and garden.

We would like to thank all those involved.

Eco Schools Litter Pick.

As part of the international Eco-Schools programme, we were invited to take part in an event to tackle litter in our home city of Manchester with several other local schools. The event brought together Keep Britain Tidy and their Great British Spring Clean campaign, Wayne & Koda – the man and his dog walking the UK coastline litter-picking as they go and David Luke Uniforms, an official partner of the Eco-Schools programme.  The event took place in the city centre on Thursday 2nd March and the children visited David Luke’s offices  where their ‘Eco-Uniform’ is made, they heard about Wayne & Koda’s inspirational story and then they carried out a litter-pick as a group.

The pupils had an enjoyable time and have asked to do this event again.
